Town Hall, some snow and a tram

An artcard featuring Carlisle Station circa 1906.
An Act was passed for the building of the station in 1846 and the first trains steamed in in Sept 1847.

There are still many original features within the rooms in the station, the big waiting room on platform 2 with its grand fireplace and wooden ceiling being just one of them.

A busy scene at the Town Hall in the late 30s or early 40s.

The old motor wagon on the left looks likes it made from Meccano.

Similar scene possibly in the 40s on a nice summers day, anyone recognise any of the makes of cars?

A post wouldn't be a post without a picture of a tram. Here we have one in Castle Street either going to or coming from Newtown (?).

The card is dated 1909, the bulding on the right is Bill Finlaysons the Hairdressers, on the left is the Salvation Army Citadel. Built in the mid 1890s it was demolished in 1972.

Heavily covered in snow, this is a scene in the early 1900s in Victoria Park. The 'Parkies' house is to the right of the monument, other snow scenes taken at the same time can be found on previous posts.
