1940s-1950s and old vehicles.

A scene in the 1940s (card posted 1944), Boots and The Silver Griil are on the right. If anyone knows what type of cars are shown please leave a comment.

Late 40s or the 1950s, Lea-Scott the opticians is in the 1952 directory but not the 1940 one as is ZIP the French Cleaners.

Possibly an earlier card than the thread title suggests, how many different modes of transport can you spot?

Although not franked, this is one of Valentine's 'Victory' cards complete with rallying message which dates it to the 1940s. Jacksons shoe shop is on the right just below the Cumberland News offices.

Posted in 1956, this card again shows the opticians Lea-Scott and ZIP the French Cleaners. An open back Ribble bus is also parked at the Courts bus stop.

The No.30 'Town Hall via Greystone Road bus nears its destination. This service was run by 'United' until the mid 60s and ran from Botcherby.

If you can correct any errors I have made or have additional information on any of the cards please leave a comment.
